What is therapeutic movement?
During therapeutic movement sessions, I combined Navakarana Yoga, nervous system regulation, and occupational therapy to support emotional resilience, embodiment, and sustainable change.
Who's it for?
For adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from their body, emotionally reactive, or stuck in patterns of stress — and want an integrative, body-based approach rather than talk therapy alone.
What is Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa?
Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa is a methodology of self-transformation through physical, practical, and mental training. The name itself—literally “composition of nine units of movement”—reflects its foundation in precise, intentional motion.
This powerful method was created by Dario Calvaruso during his twenty years in India.
In class, practitioners synchronize movement and breath under subtle but precise guidance via claps, naṭṭuvangam, or the teacher’s voice, tuned to rhythm (tālam) and melody (svara). Minimal instruction, combined with Sanskrit recitation and integrity of tempo, fosters an extraordinary shared energy—by design
What is nervous system regulation?
Nervous system regulation refers to the body's ability to move between activation and rest with ease. Therapeutic movements supports this process by engaging the body in ways that build awareness and capacity, allowing stress responses to soften and recovery to become more accessible.
How does Occupational Therapy influence this movement practice?
Occupational therapy provides the functional foundation for this work. By viewing nervous system regulation through an OT lens, therapeutic movement is used to support participation in daily life - helping clients translate regulation, resilience, and embodied awarenss into meaningful routines, relationships, and roles.
Group Classes

Schools & Universities
Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa is also available as a school-based service, thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique developmental needs of students and the vigorous demands of university students. Through engaging movement and accessible mindfulness practices, students learn how to calm their nervous system, focus their attention and move through challenges with more ease.
